Akarsh Designs is a Bangalore-based residential interior design studio specialising in personalised, theme-led interiors for villas and premium homes. With over 19 years of experience and more than 540+ completed projects, we create homes that reflect the individuality, aspirations and everyday life of their owners.

Led by founder and principal designer Charuta Raykar, each project begins with a clear design narrative. From contemporary Indian and transitional fusion to Japandi, organic modern and bespoke combinations, the chosen theme is carried consistently across space planning, materials, colours, lighting, furniture and detailing.

Our approach combines creative exploration with disciplined execution, transparent communication and close personal involvement. The result is a refined, cohesive home that feels distinctive, meaningful and unmistakably yours.

The Founder's perspective

Charuta Raykar

As the Founder of Akarsh Designs, I have spent over 20 years designing thoughtful, concept-led interiors for villas and luxury apartments. My work is especially focused on creating homes around a distinctive theme, story or design character that reflects the people living there.
For me, themed interior design does not mean decorating a space in a predictable style. It means understanding the client’s lifestyle, aspirations and personal taste, and translating them into a home where the planning, colours, materials, furniture, lighting and details speak one consistent design language.
Over the years, I have worked through every aspect of the interior design journey—from developing concepts and communicating with clients to leading teams, coordinating vendors, managing execution challenges and building a creative business.
This experience has taught me that good design requires more than creativity. It requires clarity, communication, practical thinking and the confidence to make the right decisions.
Today, alongside leading the creative direction at Akarsh Designs, I also mentor young interior designers and creative professionals. I help them gain clarity in areas such as:
• Developing stronger design concepts
• Communicating confidently with clients
• Managing projects and execution challenges
• Building reliable teams and support systems
• Starting and growing a sustainable creative practice
My mentoring is practical and experience-led. I share what I have learnt through real projects, real clients and the realities of running a design business for over two decades.
